2017 New Years Resolution – Part I

Every year I go through it, I think that we all do – “New Year, new me!” and all that…This year, I’m trying really hard to stick to my resolutions, just like I do every year. {It’s not to lose weight, although that too is something that I need to work on.}

In 2017 I’m hoping to be more organized!! Now that I have two children and have resumed working outside the home I feel like life is crazy and out of control most days! Just today I rushed down to City Hall to pay the water bill because I forgot. Shocker. I should know by now to write things down!!

A couple of weeks ago I found this ADORABLE day planner – courtesy of Target Dollar Spot – for only $5!!!! I just love the pastel colors. I’ve been wanting to personalize it for awhile now, to give it that little something extra, but tonight I just found the time {and energy} to do it.

Sorry about the low quality snap chat picture – I got so excited about my project I forgot to take a normal one!

As I’ve written in a previous post my wonderful husband bought me a Cricut for Christmas. Well, if I loved this planner before, now I really love it!! A few minutes on Cricut design space and another ten minutes weeding the excess vinyl and I now have the perfect planner!!

So far I’ve found that writing down work schedules, lists, and notes has really helped me not only remember what needs to be done but also helps feel less anxious and scatter brained.

I’m going to try really hard to keep this resolution…I know, I say that every year, but really…Let’s do this 2017!

Whay are your favorite organizational tools, tips, and tricks?

  1. Very cute! And welcome to the amazing world of Cricut. I can’t live without mine anymore! Did you know you can also make print then cut stickers for your new planner? So much fun! Good luck sticking to keeping up with your planner. You can do it! 🙂

    1. I did see the print and cut option! However we don’t have a printer. Ours broke years ago and we don’t really have a reason to buy a new one. I’m definitely addicted though!! My daughter’s birthdays are both coming up so I’m really excited to try a whole bunch of new projects!
      Thank you!! 🙂

  2. you are amazing to be able to take care of two kids, work and then do arts and crafts. you must be more organized than you give yourself credit for. I agree that writing things down does help you remember things better. i’m guilty of just writing them with a pen on the palm of my hand. I might try to level up soon and get myself a planner

    1. Thank you!! If you must know, my real secret to having time to craft and blog is sleep deprivation and a touch of craziness! Lol!!
      I do the same thing at work. I come home and my hands have notes all over them.
      You should invest in one! You can find them fairly cheap 🙂
